Record Store Day 2025 with live music, DJs, free coffee and donuts and more
Record Store Day 2025 is Saturday April 12th and Wax Trax will again have TWO (2) locations with RSD's rare and coveted vinyl LPS, one in Capitol Hill, and one in the Baker neighborhood! And both stores are each raffling off Victrola turntables.
The two stores will also complement each other on the time spectrum, opening at different times so that both early birds and late-risers have an excellent chance at their holy grails.
Wax Trax Records (638 E 13th Ave) - Doors at 8AM
Here we've ordered everything that's worth getting (except some of the oddball regional items, tired RSD regulars, and super obscure 7"/45s).
For the early birds, Wax Trax’s 47-year old location in Capitol Hill will open its doors at 8 AM, packed with an unbeatable selection of official Record Store Day releases and an exclusive used vinyl drop. Those who line up early will be treated to free donut bites and coffee courtesy of Jelly Cafe starting at 7 AM. The shop will be giving away a recently redesigned all-in-one Victrola Revolution Go turntable and collector’s case, giving a lucky winner a great setup to spin their new finds. Live music starts at 2PM with Rex Winnfield, followed by Pink Lady Monster at 3PM.
Rex Winnfield is a hip hop artist from Denver. He blends theatrics with high energy and infectious pop rap. This will be a one of a kind performance where he will be debuting a brand new EP before it’s released to the public later this spring.
Pink Lady Monster is a no wave band based in Denver. Their sound is born from experimentation, improv, and a never ending taste for the surreal and absurd aspects of life.
Wax Trax Broadway Bazaar (200 S Broadway) - Doors at 10AM
Here we'll have just a slightly more curated RSD selection so it fits in our new space! All the best stuff will be there!
If you like to wake up late, Wax Trax Broadway Bazaar will open at 10 AM with a slightly more curated selection of RSD releases as well as a used record drop and rare deals on vintage clothes and accessories. There will also be a separate giveaway for a Victrola Revolution Go turntable and Collector’s Case. Wax Trax Broadway Bazaar, which includes a vintage clothing shop, opened on South Broadway in late 2023.
Neon Brown, hip-hop performer and producer based in Denver, will be gracing the shop with an all vinyl DJ set at 1pm.
Our rules include:
- It’s first come, first served - please be good to each other in the line!
- No store in the country is ever 100% sure about receiving stuff, but most likely we'll have it and if it's popular we'll have a ton of it. (e.g. yes, the Noah Kahan, the Kacey Musgraves, the Thievery Corporation, the Elephant 6, the Olivia Rodrigo, the Billie Eilish, we will have plenty of these and much more!)
- All normal RSD rules still apply, no holds, only 1 of the same title.
- RSD items that don't sell in the shop are and/or will start appearing online here on Sunday.
- To see what's available, seek out the full RSD list here. If you're after something super-obscure feel free to ask us about it.
- The store is all very very well stocked and we always make a big drop at the used store on the same day.
You’re going to have a pretty damn good chance of finding what you’re after (and what you didn't know you were after) here at Wax Trax, as always.
Thanks and see you soon!
